Usually it happen, that before leaving for holidays, to wonder what will be the weather when you get to your destination. Everybody would like to have sunny days with temperate climate in order to walk and visit all the artistic and cultural beauty that are in Tuscany or in the Valdelsa territory. To help our guests to choose the best period for their holidays, at Piè di Costa, we have decided to record the weather every day noted on our website the temperature and the weather with detailed icons. This service, which works from April 2004, provides the opportunity for our guests, not knowing what is the weather during their holidays, but to get an idea of what to expect. Even if it is fairly easy to guess what the weather will be in summer, is not easy as well, in spring during the months of March, April and May or in autumn in September, October and November. Maybe not everyone knows that Tuscany, sheltered by mountains of Appennino to the north, offers a mild climate with pleasant temperatures throughout all the year. In winter, between December and early February, the daytime temperature hardly falls below the 5 / 6 degrees Celsius, while in spring and autumn you can have an average temperature above 15 degrees, ideal for walking outdoors or to visit the art cities and small towns of Valdelsa. Just a few hours ago the website of Piè di Costa has been awarded by the American Design Awards. American Design Award was founded in 2000 with the aim to show the world the talent of graphic and web design.
The Design Award set for that purpose two competitions a monthly and a semi annual design contest, during which they get thousand of submissions. The evaluation criteria are creativity, usability, the immediacy and effectiveness of the message transmitted.
A demonstration of the excellent work done by design, the site of Piè Costa was ranked 27th position on 681 websites well reported in the month of October 2008. American Design Awards was considered that the design, graphics and content of the new site of Piè di Costa are able to attract visitors, and the number of those who every day choose our site to plan your holiday in Tuscany is the confirmation of this and better recognition for our work.

After the harvest, at Piè di Costa is the time to begin harvesting olives. November is the time when the olives reach perfect ripeness. The olives are harvested by hand or using a special tool and made to fall on a net lying at the foot of the olive tree. Here are grouped together, separate from the leaves and put into boxes, ready to be transported to the mill for the production of the Extra Vergine oil of olive. In Piè di Costa estate there are about 400 olive trees of different varieties like the “frantoio”, “Moraiolo “, and” Leccino” that are typical kinds of olives groves in Tuscany. For that reason the the Extra Vergine oil of olive of Piè di Costa is a mixture of olives of different quality that ensures a unique and unmistakable flavour as well as a deep green colour. It is now 10 years since it started our commitment: renovate the old farmhouse of the family and make it the ideal place to spend a quiet holiday in the Tuscan countryside.
We wanted to create a place where you can spend hours of happiness full of emotions, in serenity and harmony. Our goal was also to meet people from all around the world who share with us the love for the Tuscan countryside, for art, for the Tuscan cooking and making their holiday as unforgettable as possible.
We have met many new friends during these past years. Friends who have chosen to celebrate in Piè di Costa birthdays, anniversaries and weddings, but we have also seen children grow and children become parents, making us part of their lives. For these reasons, we want to celebrate our 10th anniversary with you all completely renovating the site with new graphics, more content and information and new photos.
This is our way to mark a milestone in a journey that we are doing and will continue to do with you and thanks to you.
